GIFT AID

Gift aid is tax relief on money donated to UK charities and registered Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASC). The scheme offers charities and CASCs an opportunity to increase the value of monetary gifts from UK taxpayers by claiming back the basic rate tax paid by the donor. It can increase the value of donations by a quarter at no extra cost to the donor.

Quite simply, if you belong to a CASC it makes sense to register as each £100 raised would see a further £25 paid out to you by HMRC. Who could possibly justify not capitalising on this initiative?

If you already are a part of a registered CASC, when you set up your team simply select 'Gift Aid?' 'Yes' options. Donors will then be able to select whether they wish to donate with or without Gift Aid, helping you reach your fundraising goal faster without any additional work or admin for you.

Team Donations provides an online alternative to more traditional methods of fundraising.

We recognise that most organisations continually need funds for maintenance and the general upkeep of their facilities, as well as for tours and tournaments. We also realise that often such organisations don’t have the time or resources to coordinate large fund raising drives and activities. At Team Donations, we pride ourselves on offering a unique online option.

Through our donation platform you can raise funds for your school, UNI or social team through a safe & secure network where your privacy is protected through PayPals payment platform.

By simply creating a fundraising page and sending your link to friends and family, you can effectively receive donations from anywhere and anyone with minimal stress and no out of pocket expenses that you may incur through other fundraising activities.

Pricing & FAQs

What do I need to create a page?
You simply need some information about your team or association and what you are raising funds for, some photos if you have any and a list of people you wish to send your campaign to. It is quick and easy.

Can I create more than one page?
You can create multiple pages for various different teams or campaigns at one time.

How much does it cost?
Our pricing structure is simply 5% of each donation for the duration of the donation drive (50p for every £10 donated).

How do I send my page to family and friends?
Once your page is created, you can then e-mail via the e-mail button on your team page. A message with all of your information and link to donate will be automatically generated and you simply need to type in the e-mail addresses you with to send to.

Is there a limit to how much I can raise?
There is no limit to how much you are able to raise. However, we would encourage you to be realistic about your targets and clearly outline on your page what you are raising the funds for.

When and how do I receive my team's donations?
Team Donations uses PayPal to process all donations made through the site. Once made, PayPal will hold onto all online payments for 30 days. After 30 days, PayPal transfers the funds into the Team Donations bank account which is with HSBC Business Banking. We then deduct our 5% fee and transfer the remaining funds that same day into your nominated account. You can monitor all details via your online Admin Account.

How are the Gift Aid payments made to my bank account?
After the eligible Gift Aid donation is made, the Gift Aid amount will be issued directly from HMRC to the registered Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) that the team belongs to. The date the transfer is made is at the discretion of HMRC. Contact HMRC for more specific details on payments.

How do I know if I am eligible to claim Gift Aid?
You are eligible for Gift Aid tax relief on money donated if you are a UK charity or registered Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASC). If you believe that you are a charity or CASC but are not yet registered, then we may be able to help you to register and become eligible.

If I am eligible, how do I claim Gift Aid from HMRC?
To complete and/or lodge the required forms, visit the HMRC website at http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/charities/gift-aid.htm.

Support My Sport, whose registered office is at 48 Kerrison Road, London, SW11 2QE (company registration no. 6330058) trading as Support My Sport ("SMS"), operates www.supportmysport.co.uk (the "Website") and www.teamdonations.co.uk (the "Website"). These are the general Terms and Conditions which govern your use of the Website. Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully. If you do not wish to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, you should not continue to use or access the Website.

These Terms and Conditions may change or be updated from time to time. It remains your responsibility to access and check these Terms and Conditions wherever you access the Website. The latest version of these Terms and Conditions will govern any future usage by you of the Website.

About the charities and sports clubs featured on the Website

The Website allows you to donate to, and raise funds for, any of the charities, sports clubs, universities and school teams listed on this Website. Every charity featured has a contractual agreement with SMS authorising SMS to collect donations and reclaim Gift Aid on its behalf under the UK Government's Gift Aid Scheme. Charities and sports clubs are accepted as members at SMS's discretion. Charities must be registered with the Charity Commission or exempt from registration for SMS to reclaim Gift Aid on their behalf. Sports Clubs that wish to claim Gift Aid on donations must be Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASC’s). SMS also features reputable non-for-profit sports clubs, which are not eligible for Gift Aid reclaim. These are clearly listed on the Website as not eligible for Gift Aid reclaim. Charities and non-for-profit sports clubs can have similar names: it is your responsibility to check that you are donating to the organisation you intended.

Use of your donation

SMS is not responsible for any dissatisfaction you may have regarding the recipient organisation's use of any donation you may make through the Website or websites powered by us. Please note that the recipient organisation reserves the right to use your donation for its general purposes. SMS cannot guarantee that funds will be earmarked for a particular appeal, unless specifically stated by the recipient organisation itself.

SMS fees

SMS charges a 5% transaction fee on on any donation made on the Website. There are no joining or admin fees. Debit card transactions incur no cost and Credit Card transactions vary but are liable off the total of the transaction amount.

Unauthorised card use

When a donation is made on the Website the transaction is final and not disputable unless unauthorised use of your payment card is proved. If you become aware of fraudulent use of your card, or if it is lost or stolen, you must notify your card provider in accordance with its reporting rules.

Privacy

SMS will not keep any personal details on any donation except for those which are necessary in claiming Gift Aid on relevant donations. These are name and address which will at no stage be given to any 3^rd parties.

User conduct

SMS reserves the right to cancel your membership and delete any personal fundraising page without notice in the event of false information.

Having a personal fundraising page in aid of a charity in no way implies SMS's or the charity's endorsement of your fundraising activity. Many charities disapprove of, and do not wish to be involved in, dangerous sports or unusual challenges. It is your responsibility to check with the charity first that your chosen activity does not contravene the charity's policies. SMS reserves the right, at its absolute discretion and without notice, to cancel your personal fundraising page at the request of the charity, in the event that the charity, in its absolute discretion, deems your fundraising activity inappropriate or unnecessarily dangerous.

The Website contains links to the websites of member charities and other sports clubs, whether charities or otherwise. Inclusion of a link to another website does not imply endorsement of its content or opinions. Your relationship and any transactions with other sports clubs through their websites or otherwise are your own responsibility.

Copyright

All content on the Website is owned by SMS, our member charities, or other original providers, and is protected by the applicable intellectual property and proprietary rights and laws. You may copy content for your own personal, non-commercial use provided you do not alter it or remove any copyright, trade mark or other proprietary notice. No other use of the Website's content is permitted without the express prior permission of SMS, and, where applicable, the copyright holder.

Changes to the service

SMS will make every effort to ensure that the Website and other services are available continuously, but reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue all or any part at any time with or without notice. Unless specifically exempted, any new features, services or software applications introduced shall be subject to these Terms and Conditions.

Failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions

In the event that you commit a breach of these Terms and Conditions SMS reserves the right at its sole discretion to immediately and without notice suspend or permanently deny your access to all or part of the Website and services.

Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

SMS does not, and nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall act to, exclude or limit SMS's liability for death or personal injury resulting from its negligence, fraud or any other liability which may not by applicable law be excluded or limited.
